From the bride:
We met in Scottsdale, Arizona during the San Francisco Giants Spring Training. I was there with my girlfriends, and Chris was there with some of his friends. This was St. Patrick’s Day weekend, and overall a BIG weekend to be visiting Scottsdale. Chris engaged in conversation with me and the spark was instant. Shortly into conversation we realized it took 800 miles and a couple fireball shots to grasp that we lived one block away from each other in San Francisco and frequented most of the same places. Not only that, but we were on the same flight home. That next morning, I saved him a seat on our Southwest flight, and the rest is history.
Carmel Valley, with its countryside chic appeal holds many special memories to Chris and I. We both fell in love with the Carmel region as kids; I spent summer after summer at sleep away camp in the valley, and Chris often vacationed with his family in the coastal towns. All these years later it left a lasting impression in our hearts and while determining the location of our wedding, the choice was clear. For as long as I can remember I always wanted an outdoor wedding. I envisioned a shabby chic-romantic setting with chandeliers hanging from trees, string lights, rolling hills, picturesque views, and of course, a barn! Holman Ranch was all of these things and more. I will never forget the look Chris and I gave each other when we first stepped onto the property – it was something special. The venue spoke to us; it was sweet, rustic, and beautiful.
